Top 10 things of the school year…
May 15th, 2007 by Billy SchultzThanks for the inspiration, Tim!
In no particular order…
1. Bears vs. Vikings, Metrodome, September 24th, 2006: Bears win, and my seat was awesome!
2. Exec. Board: Being an elected student official was a great opportunity to learn and grow both personally and professionally. I spent time with some great people, becoming more passionate about student government and student life.
3. Student Senate Elections: four of the five Exec. Board seats actually had races, and it was fun to be a part of the whole process. I’m excited to serve as Student Body President, nonetheless.
4. White Sox vs. Twins, Metrodome, May 9th, 2007: John Danks, a rookie Sox pitcher, recorded his first major league victory against the rival Twins. Plus, I got to ride the light rail for the first time.
5. NCSL 2006: NCSL (National Concordia Student Leaders) met this year on our campus, and it was a great time. I got to meet some great people from our sister schools and really connected as student leaders, discussing our common issues and sharing ideas with one another.
6. Hyatt E: yeah, we had a pretty sweet group of guys living in close proximity. we got along great and had a lot of fun.
7. Ultimate Frisbee: what else is better than being on the knoll at midnight and playing what might be the best sport ever?
8. Commons Cafe: great coffee without ever having to leave campus; enough said! it’s a great addition to our campus.
9. Fish: I am blessed with the opportunity to continue in playing on two fish teams (for the third straight year) and to serve in bringing the Gospel through this ministry. There have been some fun times with the people I have played with, and have been blessed by playing with them. Next year is going to be stellar, without a doubt.
10. Classes: I’d hope these would be enjoyable for the money it costs to take them. I must say that I even enjoy those dang gen-eds, despite the fact that they are basically the same as many of my high school classes. Overall, I’ve learned a lot, even in the classes that I weren’t especially fond of.
That’s my recap of the year…
