too much stuff

This past weekend my sister graduated from law school, which was quite exciting for my family.  Many relatives came to the affair, and it was a nice time.  As the older of the 2 younger sisters, I was in charge of some preparations, which kept me busy most of the week leading up, but then I also had to pack some of my stuff up for my parents to take with them.  Since I’m moving at the end of June, we thought it would be good to move things in a couple of trips.  Great idea if you ask me.  The more times, I move, however, the more I realize I have way too much stuff.  Too many clothes, too many saved papers, too much furniture, too much tupperware…you name it, I probably have too much.  I tend to be a saver, which doesn’t help matters.  I will say, I took 2 large bags to Goodwill on Saturday, and I hope to take more.

 If you suffer from the same moving madness, remember that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.  Take what you don’t want that’s in reasonable condition to a thrift store.  It’s a great way to recycle, share, and help the community.  Plus, if you really want it, you can get the paperwork for a tax deduction.  We all can use some extra money!
