I’m exhausted.

June 15th, 2007 by Tim Sailer

Well, it’s strange to think that I’m as tired as I am, because I haven’t been doing a lot of physical activity lately…. It’s befuddling (isn’t that a great word?).

Okay, I know that each and every one of you are rolling your eyes. Get over it.

Anyway, I suppose that my lethargy is due to the three days I’ve spent at St. Peter for the LUCAD gathering. It stands for Lutheran University and College Alumni Directors. I know, I’m not even done with my undergrad work and I’m off to conventions. But I do work at the Alumni Office, and this is an excellent way to get the real scoop on Alumni Relations. It’s one of the most interesting and puzzling elements of a campus. I’m amazed at what schools do with and for their alumni. I won’t get into the details (because Reena can do that, she’s the pro, and she’s an alumna), but I was soaking in all I could and meeting some really great people from the surrounding Lutheran U’s/Colleges (and even some from New York and California).

That was my fun for the week, and I’m pretty tired from sitting around, eating well, and making new friends (”networking” is the official, professional term, I suppose).

So I think I’m gonna go for a run (it’s cooled down considerably since this morning and afternoon), and watch Pan’s Labryinth. (I sincerely hope I spelled that correctly) afterwards.

Tomorrow is a day I’ve been looking forward to for what seems like an eternity. The Drum Corps International 2007 summer music games officially begin in Annapolis and COON RAPIDS tomorrow! More importantly, Phantom Regiment will be at Coon Rapids, and I’m going to soak every minute of it up. I used to march with Phantom (for three summers already…) and I’m really excited to see my friends and little brother tomorrow (he’s on the snare line). I promise to explain all of that jargon and ostensible geekiness after this weekend. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long, but things are gonna get busy really fast. After tomorrow, the Music Summer Theatre Camp begins at CSP, and I’m a resident assistant for that. So I’m sure there’ll be some stories out of that stuff as well.

But for now, I should catch up on sleep (after a run and some good movies, no doubt).
