OK!

July 29th, 2007 by Tim Sailer

So this summer is absolutely crazy busy. I’ve been having a blast, but it’s been more draining than I would’ve imagined. Most of this is due to the beast that is known as “Oklahoma!” The final show is this afternoon. My call is just over an hour from now, and then it’ll be time to put the cowboy hat and boots away.

It’s been quite a run at Irondale High School. I’ve met some great people and hope to act with them in the future (hopefully we’d get paid; there’s a thought). The antics backstage are surely going to be missed.

People throw chocolate bars at each other

Actors are running to make the scene changes in time (I have a particularly tricky one with the saddle…apparently Cord Elam got his foot caught in it last time)

The guns misfire backstage (blanks, of course)

Some read (Harry Potter is a popular one)

We play Uno

Others stretch, warm up, dance around

Someone stole one of my props last night (the metal spoons…I had to work with a potato masher of some kind instead)–it really threw off my game (but not really).

It’s a grand ol’ time really, and it’ll be missed. This also makes me wish we’d have longer runs for shows at CSP. The problem is that every student involved in the shows has about a million other things to do.

In other realms of my life, I’m doing a lot of work and preparing for the Student Alumni Council Retreat and HOMECOMING 2007!!!!!!! Everyone should be wary. It’s on September 22, and that’s ridiculously early for Homecoming, but I’m pumped. You should be too.

And here’s a picture of Sarah and me singing “Oklahoma!”

Ok!

I don’t know how I feel about being referred to by my obscure character name in this blog.

    And that picture! Nice lift!
