beantown!!
September 2nd, 2007 by Reena Linkehello all! i’m finally settled in boston and getting acquainted with the area. the traffic here is crazy, so i’m glad i’m in walking distance of most everything. classes haven’t started yet, which is nice. tuesday is the big day! we had orientation this past thursday and friday including a rather difficult theory placement exam. eek! we’ll see how i did on that. i’ll let you know…
one thing i will say is that moving is not fun. i never believed that it was, but this experience has confirmed it to the n’th degree. first of all, packing, unpacking, and driving incredibly long distances with no air conditioning is very tiring. second, one must get new bank accounts, pay for parking spaces, sit in endless lines for all sorts of resident formalities, and inevitably not have enough forms of identification, since your u.s. passport, driver’s license, and others are not enough. further, if the state requires car inspections, one must spend hundreds of dollars covering up rust and getting new headlights and tie rods. all within seven days of getting your insurance. this has been quite the adventure. truly.
anyway, i have met some lovely people here, whom i think will be good friends. olivia mulvey (csp ‘06) is also living here just 5 T stops away. and landon anderson (csp ‘07) lives on the cape and has made a couple appearances. it’s been very fun to have them around
well, i hope ya’ll have adjusted to your new schedules and classes! i do miss my friends at csp and looked forward to coming back for homecoming this month!
hope you all enjoy the state fair and the long weekend!
adios,
reena

hey, how about a post or two?
Your IT guys worked hard to put this together. I just met them at HighEdWebDev and they seemed cool.
