It’s been chilly the past two days. Fall is coming, and I love it. This transition is my favorite time of year by far. Hopefully we won’t have to turn the air conditioner on anymore at the apartment. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m so sorry to be gone for the past two weeks! But I ended up being really crazy and jumping on tour with Phantom Regiment for the final stretch. I’ve been gushing about this activity all summer. I don’t expect you to understand how much this activity means to me.
So I’ll explain that and give another list of what I’m excited for as school starts up. (Good idea, Billy) Read the rest of this entry »

So this summer is absolutely crazy busy. I’ve been having a blast, but it’s been more draining than I would’ve imagined. Most of this is due to the beast that is known as “Oklahoma!” The final show is this afternoon. My call is just over an hour from now, and then it’ll be time to put the cowboy hat and boots away. We’re already creeping into Mid-July! I can’t believe it.
Two Things: Harry Potter 7 comes out next week (the movie comes out tomorrow, but I’m not as hyped about that) AND Oklahoma! opens on Friday–the 13th. I’m not too worried. I feel prepared and all. Yes, I even feel prepared to do “authentic Western boot clogging” on stage. You’ll just have to come and witness the spectacle for yourself (mvct.org).

Caution, this is long, but it’s chock-full of good stuff and hopefully some multi-media if I can figure it all out.
I’m on lunch break at good ol’ Alumni Relations, and my boss allowed me to have some great Pizza Luce leftovers. The pizza is amazing and has some pretty crazy options. Anyway, there are giant artichokes on this particular pizza, and it’s a little too much for me (hence the title of the entry).
But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go to Pizza Luce. Anyone who goes to Concordia is a short walk from this great place (plus it’s open until 2a.m.) For you incoming freshmen, you can have great pizza AND study for an Old Testament final at the same time! Read the rest of this entry »

Well, it’s strange to think that I’m as tired as I am, because I haven’t been doing a lot of physical activity lately…. It’s befuddling (isn’t that a great word?).
Okay, I know that each and every one of you are rolling your eyes. Get over it.
Anyway, I suppose that my lethargy is due to the three days I’ve spent at St. Peter for the LUCAD gathering. It stands for Lutheran University and College Alumni Directors. I know, I’m not even done with my undergrad work and I’m off to conventions. But I do work at the Alumni Office, and this is an excellent way to get the real scoop on Alumni Relations. I was going to devote a whole post in honor of my appreciation of leftovers, but then my writing really annoyed and bored me, so you’ll have to miss out on that. But since I’ve been working nearly full-time and live in an apartment for the first time, I’ve come to understand the greater need to survive on leftovers. There, that’s all I’ll say about that. Well, here’s a mini post to whet your appetite for the long weekend.
I hope it’s not disappointing.
I woke up freezing this morning in the new apartment. It’s chilly in the Twin Cities today, but the weather should be absolutely wonderful this weekend. I’m driving down to Sioux Falls this afternoong for my brother’s high school graduation. Lots of friends and family will be around, which will be fun–although my mom isn’t quite sure where I’ll be sleeping for a few nights. I’m flexible though. Read the rest of this entry »

So I was sitting in Barnes and Noble in Sioux Falls (probably one of my favorite places in good ol’ Soo Foo), and I was thinking that there were a lot of good highlights from this past school year.
So here they are. They aren’t in any order, however. I don’t know that I can do that ranking thing, and people will always disagree. Each have their own value (that sounds so cheesy, but it’s true). Bear with me; I know this is long. If you don’t like it, write your own.
