We have [had] (date change to Fall 2009) an event coming up once again this year and it’s always an exciting time at CSP with the fun activities! This event is known as EXPLORING CHURCH CAREERS!!!!!!! It is also a time to reflect on this school year and the things accomplished - figuring out where our lives are headed.
One of the exciting opportunities I had last year was to show the students attending Exploring Church Careers what life is all about at Concordia! Here’s a snapshot of “Exploring the Cities!”

There is no “L” in Woves…
The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the worst records in the NBA…and as it turns out, they also have the worst spelling. Last month, the Timberwolves sponsored a “Sam Mitchell Appreciation Night” in honor of their team’s first star. It was also “Reading to Succeed” night, which would turn out to be rather ironic. Prior to tip-off, the Wolves handed out posters of Mitchell wearing an a ‘Woves’ jersey. That’s right: WOVES…missing the L. The Timberwolves front offices gave out 10,000 posters of Sam Mitchell wearing a jersey that is misspelled. How a team that racks up more “L’s” than most in the league can forget that letter is difficult to understand.
I had the most amazing time skiing today with a bunch of Concordia friends! - SOOOOOOOOOOO awesome!!!! Yay for Afton Alps!!!!!!!!!!!!
We spent about 5 1/2 hours there today and I NEVER FELL!!!!! WOOH! Such an amazing time with some amazing individuals! - I HIGHLY recommend skiing at Afton Alps!
I just need to say how amazingly PROUD I am of these certain individuals right now!!!! JESSICA HASENMUELLER, CARL WENDORFF, LOGAN BRENNECKE, & NATHAN THOMPSON - Congratulations for completing L1 “Leadership from the Heart” this past weekend!
They just did an outstanding job of putting themselves on the line, trusting in the process to take them to new levels of commitment and dedication - they are some truly amazing individuals!
I am hoping to bring their new college program to Concordia by Spring 2009! So anyone who wants to attend an amazing event, check it out or email me at coenenr@csp.edu! THANKS!!!!
I’m so sorry to be gone for the past two weeks! But I ended up being really crazy and jumping on tour with Phantom Regiment for the final stretch. I’ve been gushing about this activity all summer. I don’t expect you to understand how much this activity means to me.
So I’ll explain that and give another list of what I’m excited for as school starts up. (Good idea, Billy) (more…)
I am writing this from the Orlando airport as I wait to get home from the youth gathering, watching CNN’s coverage of this sickening tragedy and I still cannot believe what has happened in Minneapolis. (more…)
We’re already creeping into Mid-July! I can’t believe it.
Two Things: Harry Potter 7 comes out next week (the movie comes out tomorrow, but I’m not as hyped about that) AND Oklahoma! opens on Friday–the 13th. I’m not too worried. I feel prepared and all. Yes, I even feel prepared to do “authentic Western boot clogging” on stage. You’ll just have to come and witness the spectacle for yourself (mvct.org). (more…)
I want to wish a happy belated 21st birthday to Billy…I’m sure he partied hard (and is maybe stillrecuperating).
Anyway, summer has been going well thus far. CU’s Kawaskii Bacon had a great showing at the 2006 NCAA Track & Field championships in Charlotte, North Carolina. He represented Concordia well, and I’m proud of him.
I’m back home in Wisconsin, but I had to run back to Concordia to . . . (more…)
1. Bears vs. Vikings, Metrodome, September 24th, 2006: Bears win, and my seat was awesome!
2. Exec. Board: Being an elected student official was a great opportunity to learn and grow both personally and professionally. I spent time with some great people, becoming more passionate about student government and student life.
